Free spins not credited? What UK casino players can check
If free spins have not appeared, do not make another deposit or place more bets to “unlock” them until you know what went wrong. First separate three possible problems: the reward was never credited, it was credited but you cannot open it on the eligible game, or you used the spins but cannot see the resulting winnings. Each needs a different check. This guide is for UK casino customers; it does not claim that any particular promotion is currently available.
The five-minute check
- Find the exact offer. Open the promotion you accepted and save its full terms, the date shown and any confirmation email or message. A homepage banner may describe a different campaign from the one assigned to your account.
- Check the qualifying action. Did the offer require registration, an opt-in before play, a deposit, a qualifying stake, or several steps in a particular order? A deposit alone may not complete a “deposit and wager” offer.
- Check the credit time and place. The spins may be awarded immediately, after a stated delay, in stages, or through a rewards area or a prompt in a named game. Do not assume they appear in your cash balance.
- Check the game and deadline. Record the precise eligible title and any time limit for claiming and using the spins. A sequel or another game from the same supplier may not qualify.
- Keep evidence before troubleshooting. Save the offer terms, opt-in confirmation, relevant transaction or play history and the empty rewards view. Note the time and time zone. Hide payment details in screenshots shared with support.
These are questions to test against your offer, not universal rules. For example, Betfair’s help page describes opt-in, eligible-game and game-specific access checks for its promotions; NetBet’s UK help page lists pending credit and expiry among possible causes. Neither page establishes the terms of another casino’s offer.
Check promotion history and competing opt-ins
If the operator provides a promotion-history or rewards log, check the original claim time, eligible game, remaining spins and any expiry before claiming again. BetMGM UK’s help directs its own customers to Promotion History when claimed spins seem to have disappeared. An opt-in may also fail because another promotion is active: NetBet UK describes this restriction for its promotions. These are operator-specific examples, not rules for every casino. Save the relevant account screen and ask official support to trace the original claim; do not make another deposit or create a second account to force a reward.
If the spins were never awarded
Compare your account history with the offer’s exact sequence. Check whether the opt-in was recorded before the qualifying transaction, whether the required spend was on eligible games and whether the stated credit period has ended. If the terms say “up to” a number of spins, check whether a further selection or staged release is involved. The deposit versus no-deposit guide explains why an initial reward and a later paid stage must be assessed separately.
Do not try to resolve uncertainty by repeating a deposit or increasing play. Ask the operator which condition it considers unmet and which account record supports that conclusion. If a promotion was addressed to you but your account is said to be ineligible, ask for the exact eligibility term and when it applied.
If the spins show in your account but will not run
Check the named game, the remaining spin count and the use-by time in the promotion or rewards area. Some rewards become available only when the eligible slot is launched; others require an additional claim action. A reward can also be tied to the particular game on which it was first opened. Use the operator’s own help instructions for that campaign rather than assuming all suppliers display spins in the same place.
Record any error message and the game title. You may try an ordinary sign-out and sign-in after saving evidence, but do not erase transaction history or change devices repeatedly if it makes the original problem harder to describe. Ask support whether the reward was credited, which game and version accepts it, how many spins remain and when the clock started.
If the spins worked but winnings seem missing
Open the game-round and account histories before assuming that a win was not recorded. Check whether the result went to cash, a restricted bonus balance or a capped reward, and whether the offer describes further wagering. A spin’s nominal stake is not a guaranteed cash return. Our wagering guide explains the distinction between qualifying play, wagering on reward funds and withdrawing your own deposit.
The Gambling Commission’s consumer guidance says businesses should distinguish a player’s own funds from bonus funds and explain restrictions. If the balance or settlement still does not match the terms, ask for a round-by-round explanation. Record the game and round IDs, accepted stakes, result and the balance before and after the round; do not send passwords or one-time codes.
What to send to the casino’s official support team
Use the support route linked from the operator’s own website or app. Give the offer name or code, the date and time you opted in, the qualifying transaction or round reference, the promised credit time, the eligible game and what your account currently shows. Attach the relevant terms and redacted screenshots. Ask for a case reference and a written answer to these questions:
- Was this specific offer attached to my account, and was my opt-in recorded?
- Which exact condition do you say was not met, and what account event or term supports that?
- If the reward was issued, where is it accessible, which game accepts it and when does it expire?
- If spins were used, where can I see each result and how was any resulting balance classified?
Support may resolve a display problem or explain a term, but a chat response should not replace a formal complaint if the dispute continues. Keep copies of the messages and avoid sending full card or bank details through an unofficial channel.
When to make a formal complaint
If you believe you met the terms and the operator does not resolve the issue, follow its published complaints procedure. The Gambling Commission’s complaint guide says to provide dates, times, amounts and evidence, and to keep a copy. It says the business has eight weeks from receiving a complaint to resolve it. If you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you may be able to use the named Alternative Dispute Resolution provider after the operator’s complaint process. You need not wait eight weeks before starting a complaint.
The Gambling Commission provides guidance on the process but does not decide an individual free-spin dispute through this article. Read the UK bonus-rules guide for the difference between a regulatory rule and an individual offer term. If gambling is causing financial stress, stop play while you resolve the issue; do not gamble to recover a disputed reward.
Common questions
Can I claim the spins after the promotion expires?
That depends on the exact claim and use deadlines in the offer. A visible old banner does not necessarily mean a reward remains claimable. Preserve the terms shown when you opted in and ask support to identify the relevant deadline.
Does “no wagering” mean the spins appear automatically?
No. “No wagering” addresses a further play-through condition on a specified reward or its winnings. It does not remove a separate opt-in, qualifying action, credit schedule, game restriction or expiry.
Should I deposit again if the first deposit has not triggered the spins?
No. Check the original transaction and terms first, then ask the operator to trace it. An additional deposit may increase your spending without resolving the missing reward.
