Big Time Gaming: games, Megaways and licensed mechanics

Quick answer: Big Time Gaming (BTG) creates slots and licenses mechanics including Megaways to other developers. A “Megaways” label describes a system used in a game; it does not prove BTG developed that game, that it shares Bonanza’s rules, or that a particular casino offers it.

Developer, mechanic and title: three separate labels

BTG’s official site describes Megaways, Megaclusters and Megapays alongside a licensing programme. Its Bonanza product page identifies a BTG game built around Megaways and Dual Reaction. A licensed mechanic may appear in a game made by another studio. Therefore a list of “Megaways casinos” is not automatically a list of “BTG casinos”, and the mechanic’s creator should not be credited as developer of every title using it.

This distinction is useful for our provider directory, where other studios may use licensed systems. Record the exact title and the developer shown in the game information screen; list the mechanic as a separate attribute. Otherwise a future ranking would double count games and confuse ownership with production.

What does “ways to win” actually tell you?

Bonanza’s supplier page describes a variable-ways Megaways system and cascading symbols. “Ways” describes how winning symbol combinations can be formed in that particular game; it is not a payout rate or a guarantee that more ways will produce a win on the next spin. The number of possible ways can vary with the displayed reels, and the game’s own rules determine how a cascade continues, whether a feature starts and what each symbol pays. A screenshot of the largest possible ways count is not a substitute for the full paytable.

The same caution applies to a free-spins feature shown in supplier screenshots. Feature rounds inside Bonanza are game mechanics, not promotional spins given by a casino. Our wagering guide addresses a separate question: what conditions apply if an operator awards promotional spins or credits.

How to check a BTG or Megaways game

  1. Write down the full title, version and credited studio. Do not equate a licensed Megaways mechanic with BTG authorship.
  2. Read the active game’s paytable for symbol combinations, changing reels, cascades and feature triggers. A related Megaways title may implement these differently.
  3. Use return and volatility information for the playable version, not a supplier-wide average or a number copied from another game.
  4. If the casino advertises free spins, check the current offer’s eligible-game list, spin stake, expiry, qualifying action and restrictions on winnings. A supplier screenshot cannot establish those terms.

BTG’s product pages identify games and mechanics, but not every GB operator carrying them today. Our casino hub covers operator-level research and does not imply a specific Bonanza or Megaways game is available. A provider-specific ranking would require dated lobby checks for the exact titles and offer conditions; we have not performed that inventory.

Common questions

Did BTG make every Megaways slot?

No. Its official site describes a licensing programme for the mechanic. Check the developer credit on the individual title.

Does the number of ways predict my chance of winning?

No. It describes a combination structure, not a promise about a session’s result. The complete rules and theoretical return information belong to the specific game configuration.
