Games Global: studios, distribution and game identities

Quick answer: Games Global distributes a portfolio that includes games from different studios and a progressive-jackpot network. The portfolio label is not always the game’s developer. To compare a title or an offer, keep the distribution brand, studio, exact game and operator separate.

Why older pages may say Microgaming

Games Global’s 3 May 2022 announcement says its operational launch followed the acquisition of Microgaming’s distribution business, game intellectual property, progressive-jackpot network and interests in studios. That history explains why older reviews may use “Microgaming” where newer supplier material says “Games Global”. It does not mean every game previously associated with Microgaming was authored by one studio, nor that an old casino offer remains valid under a new catalogue label.

When updating a game record, preserve the dated historical name as context but identify the studio and game version shown by the current source. A change in corporate distribution is not a release date for the individual slot and is not evidence that a casino has just added it.

Portfolio, studio and game are different identifiers

The supplier’s product directory presents a broad catalogue. One portfolio can contain different studios, each with its own series and feature systems. A player looking for a particular title needs more than the distributor’s name: the exact title and any edition, the studio credited by the game, and the operator where it appears. This prevents “Games Global free spins” from becoming an unsupported claim about every game under the umbrella.

It also avoids double counting in a future supplier comparison. Ranking a parent portfolio against one of its own studios as if both were equivalent developers would make the list difficult to interpret. Our provider directory is therefore organised as identity guides, not a score table.

A progressive network is not an operator bonus

The launch announcement specifically mentions a progressive-jackpot network. A progressive prize belongs to a game’s stated mechanics and network conditions. By contrast, a casino’s free spins or matched-deposit promotion is an incentive controlled by the operator. A jackpot symbol, a bonus round inside a slot and a promotional credit may all use the word “bonus”, but they have different triggers and terms. Do not assume a promotional spin qualifies for every progressive jackpot; check the operator’s current promotion and the game’s own jackpot rules.

If a page quotes a theoretical return figure, find out whether it refers to the base game alone, includes a jackpot contribution or describes a different configuration. Do not present one portfolio-wide RTP: the relevant unit is the exact game and version accessible at the casino.

How to check a Games Global title

  1. Search the operator’s GB lobby for the complete game name and note any suffix or jackpot edition.
  2. Open that game’s information screen to identify the credited studio, rules, return information and jackpot conditions.
  3. Compare the same version with the supplier’s product page; do not transfer a feature description from a similar title.
  4. For an offer, read the eligible-game list, qualifying action, spin value, expiry and winnings restrictions in the operator’s current terms.

The UK bonus-rules guide explains the last step, while the casino hub covers account-level factors. We have not ranked casinos by Games Global coverage because the current WFS operator database does not contain a maintained GB game-by-game inventory. Distribution announcements alone cannot supply one.

Common questions

Is Games Global the developer of every game it distributes?

No. A portfolio or distribution relationship should not erase the credited studio. Read the individual title’s current information before attributing its mechanics or artwork.

Does an old Microgaming-labelled review prove current casino availability?

No. It may be useful historical context, but the current operator lobby and game rules are the evidence needed for a present-day comparison.
