UK casino comparisons: evidence before rankings
Two UK casino brands can advertise similar-looking free spins while asking players to do different things to qualify. Our comparisons put the actual steps and restrictions next to each other: which part of the site the offer covers, the minimum deposit, any qualifying play, the named game, the value of each spin, when the reward arrives and when it expires. We do not award an overall winner from a headline number.
Research scope: These are document-based comparisons of public UK-facing operator pages, checked on 4 October 2026. They are not account-opening, payment or withdrawal tests. Promotions can change or be personalised. The terms shown to an eligible account at the point of joining take precedence over our dated summary.
Choose a comparison
- PlayOJO vs MrQ compares two first-deposit spin offers with no wagering on spin winnings. The important differences are the slot, spin count, nominal stake and time to use the spins.
- Betfred vs PlayOJO shows why an offer that requires a deposit and £10 of eligible slot stakes cannot be compared with a deposit-triggered offer on spin count alone. It also keeps Betfred’s Games/Vegas terms separate from its sports and other casino promotions.
The five questions we answer before comparing offers
- Who can claim it? Check new-customer status, territory, account verification and whether a code or opt-in must happen before the first deposit. An offer open only to selected accounts cannot be treated as a general welcome deal.
- What must you spend or stake? A £10 minimum deposit is not the same as a £10 slot-staking condition. Deposit money remains yours to play or withdraw subject to the account’s rules; required gambling carries a risk of loss.
- What is actually awarded? Multiply spin count by the stated spin stake to understand the nominal funded-stake amount, but never describe that result as guaranteed cash. Fifty 10p spins represent £5 of promotional stakes, not a £5 payout.
- Which game and clock apply? A spin tied to one named slot is less flexible than a choice of eligible games. The deadline may run from qualification, crediting or acceptance; those are different events.
- What happens to winnings? Check whether winnings go to cash, become restricted bonus funds or need further wagering, plus any withdrawal validation. A no-wagering label answers only the playthrough question.
Why we do not turn these pages into a league table
A league table would imply that a single score captures the value of different slots, account conditions and user preferences. We have not made comparable real-money deposits or timed withdrawals at these brands, and our editorial payment-method register is not evidence of each person’s cashier options. We therefore show the supported offer facts and leave unmeasured service performance unscored.
The wagering requirements guide explains playthrough separately from qualification. The deposit versus no-deposit guide addresses another common mix-up. For broader casino selection, use the casino hub; a general casino ranking should not decide which specific welcome offer suits a reader.
Our source and update method
Each comparison links directly to the operator’s relevant UK promotion and its published terms. We record a check date and avoid reusing an old screenshot as if it were a live deal. If two official pages conflict, we identify the difference instead of silently choosing the more attractive claim. We do not use third-party customer comments as proof of payout speed, slot RTP or eligibility.
The Gambling Commission’s consumer guidance on free offers says operators should make clear when a player uses their own money or bonus funds subject to restrictions. Its bonus wagering rule caps wagering requirements attached to bonus funds at 10 times the incentive amount from 19 January 2026; that is not a ban on a separate qualifying deposit or stake. See our editorial methodology for how missing evidence is labelled.
